Providence Health & Services Transport & Logistics Center Technician in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Transport and Logistics Technician (Dept, Variable Shift, 0.8 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Perform duties involving the movement of patients and equipment to and from inpatient units and patient care areas throughout the hospital as well as assisting nursing personal with high needs patient lifts; patient turning in the intensive care units and other patient handling maneuvers.
Be a primary responder for all in-house codes performing chest compressions.
Focus is to respond to and complete requests as outlined by the department scope of service.
Utilize the TransportTracking automated dispatching system.
Practice safe patient handling and mobility standards emphasizing minimum manual lifting.
Work in conjunction and under the guidance of nursing and other medical personnel to ensure transfers, lifts and other patient maneuvers are safe for staff and patients.
Focus on maintaining a safe, hazard free, clean environment that facilitates quality patient focused care.
Cross train with other roles to support department specific needs.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Prior one (1) year experience in a customer service position/field
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months of hire
Ability to exert continuous physical effort including lifting, carrying, pushing or moving of patients, and patient care equipment
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Six (6) months experience working in health care with patient contact
