Providence Health & Services Supervisor Care Management Services RN *1.0/Day $10,000 Sign-On Bonus* in Anchorage, Alaska


Providence is calling a Supervisor Care Management Services RN (Utilization Review, Days, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Kodiak Medical Center in Kodiak, Alaska. We are offering RNs who are not currently working for Providence or one of our affiliates a $10,000 sign on bonus to join our amazing nursing team! $5000 on your first paycheck and $5000 at 6 months. Repayment would be required based on a prorated amount if you do not complete the minimum retention requirement.*

In this position you will:

  • Work closely with all patient care units/departments/services and interdisciplinary team members to resolve issues related to care management and complex transitions to the next site of care. Responsible for achievement of department initiatives for cost management in addition to the accuracy and effectiveness of care management processes. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with providers and clinical staff. Ensures appropriate workload distribution; works with case managers, social service clinicians and navigators to assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor and evaluate services and outcomes to maximize the health of the patient.

  • Supervise the Care Management caregivers to accomplish the goals of the program. Ensure that all care management caregivers are properly and adequately trained and have the skills and competence to perform the required functions. Assists case managers and social service clinicians in completing comprehensive assessment and care plans to evaluate the patients need for services.

  • Ensure regulatory requirements and accreditation standards are applied to all activities and reporting. Identify areas for improvement of existing operational policies and procedures, develop recommendations to department leadership and follow through with implementation.

  • Recruit, hire, and supervise professional and support staff; orients, trains, and supports staff in performance of their duties; evaluates performance and provides career development coaching. Reviews time records, sets schedules, and approves time-off requests.

  • Assist Manager Care Management Services in developing department quality and performance targets and analyzes actual data against them; share responsibility with manager for specified month-end reports; collaborates in development of formats for standard and specialized reports; assists with collection and analysis of data.

  • Manage own patient assignment/caseload as needed to ensure adequate coverage of care management services across the department.

  • Educate care management caregivers and interdisciplinary team on care management standards of practice; collaborates with providers on alternatives to care based on patient’s insurance coverage and preferences; participates as a member on project teams and committees related to care management/care coordination as assigned.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Completion of an accredited nursing program.

  • Ability to obtain unencumbered Alaska RN license by date of hire.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.

  • Three (3) years clinical nursing experience.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

  • Certification as an Accredited Case Manager from the American Case Management Association or as a Certified Case Manager from the Commission for Case Managers.

  • One (1) year case management experience including utilization review, care management, care coordination, discharge planning, or population health.

  • One (1) year progressive supervisory experience.

Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center (PKIMC) provides comprehensive health care to residents and visitors of Kodiak Island. This critical access hospital features 25 acute care beds, including four birthing suites, one OB triage room, and two ICU beds. In addition, the Elder House, PKIMC’s long term care facility, has 22 beds.
