Providence Speech Language Pathologist - Pediatrics in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Speech Language Pathologist - Pediatrics (Rehab Peds ST, Days, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate Speech Language Pathology services for children, ages birth to 18, according to professional standards and under the prescription of a physician licensed in the state of Alaska
Communicate with team members and outside agencies to identify patient needs, changes, overall condition of patient, and determine future levels of care
Document all aspects of care and outcomes in a manner that is clear to others, and meets service standards. Plan for patient discharge with attention given to home programs, equipment arrangement, and patient/family education
Delegate appropriate patient activities to co-workers and aides using professional criteria. Gathers feedback from team members
Exhibit clinical skills relevant to level of education and training in pediatrics
Contact vendors for durable medical equipment/augmentative communication needs
Provide patient and family education in a variety of physical settings
Demonstrate safe use and knowledge of equipment in pediatric therapy department
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology
Current license to practice Speech Pathology in the State of Alaska
CFY candidates will be considered, with commitment of continued employment after certification and full licensure
Experience and credentials in pediatrics
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Experience in dysphagia
