Providence Sonographer/RVT (On Call) in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling an oncall Sonographer/RVT (Ultrasound, Variable Shift, 0.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Perform a variety of diagnostic sonographic and non-invasive vascular procedures in accordance with department, hospital, and national standards. Review the patient record prior to examination, and obtains a history from the patient
Responsible for accurately completing daily records, Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement information, necessary to meet accreditation standards
Responsible for calibrating, maintaining and basic troubleshooting of sonographic equipment. Optimize equipment and supplies to maximize department operations, and minimize patient time
Stock work area daily. Will be involved in stocking general supplies and ordering as requested
Comply with department and hospital safety standards. Practice Body Substance Isolation. Complete education as necessary to maintain licensure or certification required for job. Assist in the orientation and training of new employees
Communicate with physicians, nurses and other members of the team concerning patient status, diagnosis, and samples for testing or related information. Operate multiple communication and telecommunication systems. Coordinate scheduling of tests
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of an ultrasound program (minimum 1 year in length)
Associate Degree in a related health care field or credentials with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
Registry credentials with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Abdomen, OB-GYN, and Vascular registries within 27 months
Physically able to transport equipment and patients to and from the bedside
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Membership in a professional organization such as the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, Society of Vascular Technologists, or the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine encouraged
2 years of recent full-time paid experience in abdomen, OB/GYN, and vascular technology.
Recent experience in Neurosonography.
