Providence Health & Services Security Officer in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Security Officer ( Security , Variable Shift, 0.5 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Maintain all aspects of Civil Law and order.
Conduct walking patrols of buildings with emphasis on theft and vandalism prevention and customer relations.
Conduct walking and vehicle patrols of all parking areas with emphasis on theft and vandalism prevention and controlling parking access for patients using various enforcement techniques, including citations and towing.
Respond to incidents appropriately, as per hospital and departmental policy and procedures.
Take responsibility for situations encountered and follows through to conclusion or until relieved.
Respond appropriately to all fire emergencies and drills.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Alaska Driver's License.
BLS and HAZWOPER must be obtained within the first year of employment, and maintained current thereafter.
Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification and Oleoresin Capsicum Aerosal Training (OCAT) must be obtained within first six months of employment and maintained current thereafter.
Ability to restrain and control large patients, in order to protect the patient or other patients and staff
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
3 years’ experience as a security officer
1 year experience working in healthcare security
Qualification in weaponry of various types, including handguns and chemical gasses preferred.
