Providence School Mental Health Therapist I (10-month position) in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a School Mental Health Therapist I (Crisis Recovery Center, Days, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Crisis Recovery Center in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
The School Mental Health Therapist is responsible for providing integrated clinical services in an identified Anchorage School District school. There is potential to serve in elementary or middle school depending on experience, competence, and passion.
$5000 sign on bonus available to eligible candidates.
In this position you will:
Strive to improve overall health and wellness of school population by increasing engagement with families, improve attendance and classroom behaviors, increase overall quality of life, and reduce distressing symptoms.
Responsible for providing mental health/substance use assessments, crisis intervention, treatment planning, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy, and case management services as indicated.
Conduct suicide risk assessments and provides referrals and safety planning.
Utilize evidenced based practices to guide multi-level interventions.
Provide technical assistance/consultation and other related resources to school setting on trauma informed services, de-escalation techniques, identifying behavioral health needs and referrals to care.
Coordinate with parents/guardians and other community agencies as pertinent to student needs.
Assist with identifying high risk students and initiating interventions to promote engagement in services and reduce barriers to participation in services.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work or health related field
Must be able to obtain State of Alaska professional within 2 years of hire. LPC, LCSW, or LMFT
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- 2 years of Clinical experience
