Our Residency program transitions new graduate nurses into practice emphasizing inter-professional, collaborative, and patient-centered care. Our comprehensive specialty curriculum includes online and classroom-based learning, clinical simulation, skills development, and unit orientation with specialty trained preceptors. Our Core Fundamentals program is designed to support new graduate professional development through their first year of practice.

*The RN Resident program is up to 16 weeks of training. Candidates hired will have a 2-year commitment to the unit after completion of the Residency. Candidates must pass NCLEX and have RN license posted with the State of AK PRIOR to the start date. Current BLS from the American Heart Association required prior to starting. We do not offer relocation for our Residency program.
Please make sure during the video interview to mention any areas of interest. Our specialty units will have separate postings, and you will want to apply to those areas to be considered (ED, NICU, Pediatrics and Maternity).
Please also keep our critical access hospitals in mind located in Valdez, Seward and Kodiak. Our Extended Care and Transitional Care facilities also take new graduates, so those are great places to work as well!
Nursing degree/diploma required upon hire.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or higher within 3 years of hire, Or
Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis at each facility by the most senior administrative nursing leader in consultation with the Human Resources leader.
RNs employed prior to 1/1/17 are encouraged to obtain a Bachelor’s degree or higher degree in Nursing, but obtaining the degree will not be a condition of employment.

Completed a pre-licensure nursing program and is newly licensed. Length of time since graduation can vary; however, typically is less than 12 months from graduation.
