Providence Health & Services RN -Clinical Documentation Specialist - Quality Improvement in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Clinical Documentation Specialist (Quality Improvement, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska.
We look for an experienced RN with charting and clinical pathophysiology skills. RNs in this role must be good with metrics, managing data, including use of ICD 10. This is a highly regulated position, and a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys working on complex assignments, and working with a diverse and fast moving team.
In this position you will:
Apply knowledge/expertise in clinical documentation standards to develop forms, documentation systems, and acts as resource for regulatory/accreditation quality standards, documentation standards, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate effectively with Health Information Services.
Stay current with, and conducts ongoing clinical documentation management program education for new staff, including new clinical documentation specialists, physicians, and nursing and allied health professionals.
Effectively use computers to manage data storage, basic data query, and report generation, spreadsheet, word processing, presentation preparation, and Internet searching.
Facilitate appropriate clinical documentation to ensure that the level of services and acuity of care are accurately reflected in the medical record.
Improve overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Associate's degree in Nursing
Evidence of ongoing personal professional growth and education
Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in State of Alaska
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire
2 years of recent health care experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Knowledge of nursing acute care regulatory/accreditation requirements
