Providence Quality Regulatory Services Coordinator in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling an Quality Regulatory Services Coordinator (Patient Safety, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Accreditation: Manages, implement, and support Patient Care & Administrative policies/guidelines for the Alaska region. Serve as regional policy coordinator and offers oversight to the PolicyStat program for all Alaska sites with a goal toward standardization, decreasing duplication, and ensuring regional uniformity. Provides training and competence review of PolicyStat administrators and users in the region. Performs as the logistics and communications expert in the Accreditation Command Center during all regulatory surveys. Maintains regulatory documents, binders, and electronic resources and Tracer activities as they support accreditation and regulatory compliance. Chairs and or acts as acting chair of the PAMC Guideline, Policy and Procedures (GPP) Committee according to the committee charter.
Risk Management: Prepares Discovery responses for litigated professional and general liability cases under the supervision of the Risk Manager. Prepares periodic loss run and other Risk Management metrics reports. Coordinates the Risk Management review of system-wide policies and procedures. Complete Intake, investigates, determine and resolve patient complaints for lost belongings. Manages for the Providence Health and Services Alaska Notary program. Maintains the insurance programs for PH&S Alaska. Processes requests for insurance certificates (COI) for events, facilities, practitioners and allied health care workers.
Patient Safety: Coordinates the portfolio of Caring Reliably trainings, works with QRS leaders and region clinical leaders and in coordination with the Risk Patient Safety Specialists to prepare regularly scheduled and tailored Caring Reliably training sessions to sustain high reliability culture across the organization.
Care Experience: monitors and processes grievance reporting and investigation. Coordinates responses with Regional Patient Experience team. Supports the implementation of Care experience initiatives across the AK region.
Clinical Analytics & Quality Improvement: coordinates the development and implementation of key Quality Improvement initiatives, manages the Quality of Care Committee of the region board and all other quality committees across the region.
Infection Prevention: Helps to provide oversight of the process for meeting regulatory reporting requirements of infectious agents including navigating electronic health records pertinent to case surveillance. This can include reporting between various outside clinics/facilities (i.e. Mayo Clinic), the State of Alaska and internal departments. Manages the daily reconciliation of inpatient isolation/infection list including new targeted organisms, and monitors for trends and potential areas of concern.
Medical Staff, Peer Review and CME: responsible for the management of digital platforms that support Continuous Medical Education and other regional activities. Responsible for the financial transactions of the medical staff for the collection of application fees and annual staff dues, financial accounting, paying medical staff bills and keeping the Medical Staff Executive Committee informed of the status of all staff funds. Coordinates the Medical Staff governance as outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws, Organizational Manual and Credentials Manual. Coordinates the review and evaluation of peer review cases to support the Physician Quality Committee and the physician senior leadership council for the regionGovernment Programs, Abstractions, Clinical Documentation: responsible for data abstraction, data entry, and report creation for various data sets (ex: core measures), as well as ongoing audits of key quality indicators and standards. Abstracts clinical data from medical records per data definitions. Enters data into Web-based applications and other computerized systems. Assures accurate and timely data abstraction and submission of data per external submission guidelines and internal deadlines.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare, or other field or additional four (4) years of experience
Four (4) years progressive professional work experience
One (1) year healthcare related experience
