Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) Developer to one of our locations in AK, CA, MT, OR WA, or TX.
We are seeking a Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) Developer to Lead coordination effort to understand the underlining data mart structure for successful OBIEE repository build requirements. Be involved in creating map/interactive dashboard catalog objects. Accountable for translating end user reporting requirements to an optimal performing OBIEE RPD model. Helps to make recommendations to support the star schema warehouse design to best align with the BI reporting needs. This includes the responsibility of working with the data integration team and Healthcare Intelligence.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Works closely with the data integration team, the Insights Reporting Manager, and the OBIEE Dashboard Developer.
Key coordinator in the daily operations, configuration and maintenance of the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) repository for Providence. Understands the basic clinical and financial business processes, data quality issues, data use, and any other areas of special focus for the data assigned. Responsible for the maintenance and development of existing and new repositories.
Plan and coordinate production system activities such as upgrades, updates, patching, and other maintenance with department users, IT team, Healthcare Intelligence, and additional vendors associated with OBIEE. Also performs the quality software code creation, code compiling and testing, version control and release management activities.
Responsible for federating disparate data sources in the logical layer, implementing time series metrics and working with level based metrics for successful financial, clinical, and quality reporting.
The position reports to the Insights Reporting Manager and must establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff at all levels in Providence Strategic and Management Services (PSMS), as well as with other Providence Health & Services staff, vendors, agents, and others.
Successful accomplishment of the primary accountabilities of the position will depend upon establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of persons at all levels of the organization. Principal among them are: Regional Finance and Decision support leaders and staff; IT Support Service leaders and staff; Healthcare Intelligence leaders and staff; and external vendors.Responsible for documenting Agile sprint activities in Jira as adheres to departmental policies.
Develop principles and concepts and innovative solutions.
Develop/maintains depth and breadth across lines of business.
Position may require some travel
Support development of educational content for Insights Users
Define, design, build, test, deploy, and support software systems.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or mathematics or equivalent work experience.
At least 6-8 years of data base development experience
At least 3 years of OBIEE experience with a focus on designing and developing OBIEE metadata RPD content from scratch
Experienced in Dimensional Data Modeling and/or Star Schema design
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience In building OBIEE repository layers and BI Publisher
OBIEE administration experience
Dashboard catalog objects
Oracle’s BI Publisher 11GUnderstanding of data modeling and abstractions as well as report design.
Able to facilitate and collaborate with cross functional teams. Works effectively with other team members across functional and geographic regions.
Advanced abilities on the OBIEE reporting side including hands on work with majority of OBIEE 11g reporting and chart customization abilities as well as a good understanding of implementing presentation layer security
Strong OBIEE performance tuning experiences and abilities
Thorough understanding of software development methodology and project documentation
Excellent analytical and communication skills
