Providence Laboratory Courier in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Laboratory Courier (Outreach Lab, Days, 1.0 FTE - 40 hours a week) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Documentation: Responsible for completing accurate records and reports and other information for Medical Records/Master Files database within scope of work assignments.
Communication/Teamwork: Uses positive interpersonal skills to educate/support laboratory customers and promote success of team members. Uses clear and concise verbal and written methods to communicate with staff and laboratory customers.
Safety and Education: Complies with laboratory and hospital safety procedures. Practices Body Substance Isolation.
Lab Procedures: Maintains patient/client confidentiality. Releases information according to PHSA and Laboratory policy.
Delivers laboratory reports to client offices in a timely fashion.
Drives to client’s offices for pick-up of specimens.
Checks specimens against request slip for proper collection and labeling.
Pick up requests, fills orders and returns necessary supplies.
Performs weekly supply checks at each client location and recommends any action needed.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or GED
1 year customer service experience and computer experience, PC and word processing
Must have a valid and current Alaska driver’s license along with a safe driving record
