Providence Health & Services Food and Nutrition/Restaurant Services Cook II in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Cook II (Food and Nutrition, Variable Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
This is a full time, variable shift position in our Food and Nutrition department.
In this position you will:
Prepare hot and cold food items, using a variety of cooking equipment, while following scratch recipes and department specifications.
Maintain all foods at proper temperatures, during all phases of cooking process – Prep, Cooking, Holding and Cooling.
Work cooperatively as an essential member of the Dietary team.
Comply with all hospital and department standards and become fully knowledgeable about regulatory requirements in food service in a health care environment.
Ensure work area is properly sanitized before daily production begins.
Secure needed food supplies and small equipment and ensures they are properly stored in work area.
Review production sheets and follows standardized recipes for production.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Municipality Food Handlers card within 30 days of hire
2 years experience in quantity food preparation
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Coursework or training specific to vocation
Ability to read, write and speak English
