Providence is calling a Continuing Medical Education Coord ( Continuing Medical Education , Day Shift , 1.0 FTE - 40 hours per week) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Assures compliance with the ACCME governing body, including policy development and implementation. Constructs Self-Study report for accreditation and annual reports to WSMA. Oversight of compliance with ACCME regulations and PHSA policies for accredited CME activities.
Oversees and manages promotional activities, including on-line listing and registration process. Develops internet enduring materials and other technology improvements for delivering educational activities.
Oversight and management of the CME committee/council in collaboration with the Education Effectiveness Specialist RN. Collaborates with the CME committee/council to develop policies and procedures related to accreditation. Is responsible for implementation of all departmental and related institutional policies and procedures for continuous improvement in the CME program.
Monitors and reports annual progress and improvements to PARB and Medical Executive Committees at PHSA facilities within the Alaska Region.
Oversees joint provider relationships and fees. Conducts training sessions for joint providers. Collaborates with other organizations necessary to meet the Providence strategic mission.
Supports organizational quality improvement initiatives through assessment of course outcomes and educational gaps. Supports Providence strategic growth initiatives with educational activities, focused on areas of growth in improved patient outcomes.
Completes initial and annual Competency Plan for assigned job and department.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree Business management, education, healthcare, nursing, science or related field OR 5 years of continuing medical education experience.
Healthcare, education, science, or related field including experience with a broad range of administrative responsibilities such as meeting/event planning, continuing education concepts, medical terminology, grant writing and reporting, budget and funds management, and course development.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience in developing, adhering to, and documenting policies to meet regulatory compliance.
Certified Healthcare CPD Professional (CHCP) certification preferred.
