Providence Health & Services Communications Specialist II in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Communications Specialist II ( Telecommunications Dept, Variable Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Operates computerized telephone switchboard to provide effective and efficient flow of communication to staff, patients, physicians and general public.
Receives and communicates requests for air medical and ground response to nurses and physicians. Relays information between requesting agency and/or facility.
Monitors and responds to the following emergency and life safety systems: Code 777 phone, Code 99, Fire, Pharmacy security, Parking structure code phones, Blood bank temperature, and CBX switch rectifier.
Receives and communicates requests and information to the hospital security officers.
Monitors the Civil Defense and Intra-Hospital radio networks.
Controls and operates the public address system.
Operates the hospital action system.
Maintains complete knowledge of hospital activities and functions.
Maintains directories, information logs, status boards and other resources with current, up-to-date information to ensure accurate dissemination of information.
Completes initial and annual Competency Plan for assigned job and department.
Required qualifications for this position include:
6 months of radio dispatch experience
Ability to read, write and speak English
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
1 year medical related operator experience
High school diploma or GED
