Providence is calling a Patient Guide II (Forest View,Variable Shift, 0.6 FTE) to Providence Forest View in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Provide personal services to patients to maintain and increase the greatest level of functioning, independence, and recovery.
Promote independence by guiding patients in the Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and encourage patients to participate in their own personal care.
Provide assistance and care in such a way that patients are encouraged to stay active and involved in their own personal care, recovery and health maintenance.
Continually evaluate patient service plans and alert Patient Services Supervisor or Patient Services Coordinator of changes in patient status.
Assist in the orientation of new employees in the department as assigned.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School graduate or the equivalent
Current State of Alaska Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Assn.
Ability to satisfy the State of Alaska Licensing, Assisted Living Homes background records and fingerprint check criteria
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Experience in the area of orthopedics

Forest View is a short stay facility and is licensed by the State of Alaska as an Assisted Living Facility, located in Building S of the Providence Health Park on Piper Street. Forest View provides a rapid recovery environment for patients requiring a variety of nursing and physical therapy services for a short period of time following their surgery at one of the local surgery centers in Anchorage.
